Job Summary
Director of Preconstruction to lead regional preconstruction and estimating efforts across Southwest Florida. Oversees the preconstruction/estimating department, including team structure, workloads, and performance; develops project strategies, conceptual estimates, and budgeting from early design through final pricing; ensures accuracy and consistency of estimates; drives value management and cost optimization; serves as a key client interface delivering preconstruction services and maintaining long-term relationships; mentors and develops team members; coordinates internal resources to align with timelines, budgets, and client expectations; oversees bid-day execution and procurement strategy; maintains relationships with subcontractors and ensures prequalification alignment; collaborates with regional leadership to grow preconstruction capabilities and supports business development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 15–20+ years of commercial construction experience, with a strong focus in preconstruction/estimating
- Proven experience leading and managing preconstruction teams
- Strong background in conceptual estimating, budgeting, and cost management
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience with client-facing responsibilities and delivering preconstruction services
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in estimating software, takeoff tools, and construction technology platforms
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and detailed level
