Job Summary
Prepare bid-chase briefs, attend pre-bid meetings, and lead project kick-offs while performing constructability reviews and generating RFIs. Review front-end documents to identify risks, then prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed estimates using On-Screen Takeoff. Coordinate subcontractor bids, analyze bid leveling matrices, and present estimates to clients and operations teams. Mentor estimating staff, maintain historical cost databases, and ensure compliance with company policies. Based in Orlando, FL, with a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of commercial construction experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of commercial construction experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Sage, AutoCAD, and estimating software
- Strong understanding of commercial construction systems, including sitework, foundations, structural systems, interiors, and MEP systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost modeling and data analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and organize construction plans and specifications
- Light travel as required
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in estimating or preconstruction preferred
- LEED accreditation (USGBC) preferred
- Professional Estimator Certification (e.g., ASPE) preferred
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
