Job Summary

Prime Design+Build seeks a Preconstruction & Bid Manager to lead bid coordination, project intake, subcontractor outreach, procurement planning, estimating support, and project readiness across multiple commercial construction projects in California. The role sits at the intersection of business development, estimating, operations, and project management, requiring ownership of front-end workflows, bid calendars, proposal schedules, RFIs, and coordination with estimating, operations, and PM teams. Responsibilities include managing bid opportunities from clients/developers/brokers, organizing bid documents and subcontractor distribution, tracking proposal progress, supporting preconstruction planning for TI and ground-up projects, reviewing plans/specs for constructability, leading subcontractor sourcing and buyout, coordinating procurement activities and material approvals, and driving process improvements through SOPs and standardized workflows. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has strong negotiation and vendor management abilities, can manage multiple projects with urgency, and can operate with minimal supervision. Preferred software experience includes Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Autodesk Construction Cloud, NetSuite, Monday.com, Buildertrend, Asana, and JobTread or similar construction management tools. Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Preconstruction, Bid coordination, Procurement, Estimating support, Project engineering
  • Commercial or General Building construction experience
  • Experience with Commercial tenant improvements, Ground-up construction, Industrial projects, Healthcare or medical office projects, Retail and mixed-use projects
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and suppliers within California markets (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, procurement, bid packages, and scheduling
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and vendor management skills
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Excel, Smartsheet, Autodesk Construction Cloud (preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple bids/projects and drive front-end coordination
  • Proactive, execution-focused, and able to work independently
