Job Summary
Translate customer prints and technical requirements into complete cost models covering materials, labor, machine time, tooling, and outsourced processes. Validate manufacturability with engineering and production to ensure practical approaches, then leverage historical performance to forecast realistic costs and delivery schedules. Develop formal quotations on time while collaborating with procurement to obtain pricing and compare supplier quotes. Enhance estimating templates and tools, record assumptions for every estimate, and join post-quote reviews to feed lessons back into best practices. Work closely with sales, quality, and operations to align quotes with expectations, provide technical support during proposals, and prepare handoff packages to management and production.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in estimating or manufacturing cost analysis
- Working knowledge of fabrication processes: cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specs
- Exceptional attention to detail
