Job Summary
Precision Inspector on 2nd shift responsible for in-process inspections of spacecraft and engine hardware (electrical, mechanical, propulsion) using drawings, CAD models, and established procedures. Works alongside CMM programmers to verify conformance, identifies and resolves production/test anomalies, documents non-conformances, and supports quality management system policies, driving continual improvement and Lean initiatives. Requires 4+ years in aerospace/manufacturing inspection, with preferred 6+ years on spaceflight hardware and 3+ years with metrology/CMM hardware; knowledge of QA principles, AS9100/ISO 9001, OSHA safety requirements, and experience inspecting electrical, mechanical, structural, or propulsion assemblies; proficient with portable electronic testing and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 4+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, aviation, military or manufacturing environment
- Preferred: 6+ years hands-on experience with spaceflight hardware
- 3+ years experience with metrology or CMM hardware
- Experience with QA principles, methods, and processes
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, structural, or propulsion assemblies
- Experience with electronic testing and inspections using portable measuring devices
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety programs
- Experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems
