Job Summary
Operate and monitor autonomous vehicles on public roads in Austin, TX to collect performance and environmental data, perform daily safety checks, monitor vehicle systems, and document behavior. Collaborate with engineers, operations teams, and test riders while maintaining high safety standards and responding to hazards. Requires professional driving experience (3+ years), familiarity with Austin traffic laws, and ability to drive safely under all conditions. No CDL required. Preferred: experience with autonomous vehicle operation, motorsports, app-based driving, IT/technical troubleshooting, and defensive driving certification.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of U.S. driving experience with a valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record (no DUIs or drug/alcohol offenses in the past 5 years)
- Ability to drive safely under all road and weather conditions
- Familiarity with Austin traffic laws and routes
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused
- Experience in one of the following areas: Autonomous vehicle operation; Driving instruction; Motorsports (ATVs, side-by-sides, or dirt bikes); App driving (e.g. Grab, Uber, Lyft) experience; IT/technical troubleshooting experience
- Certification in safe or defensive driving (preferred)
- Experience collecting and reporting technical data (preferred)
- Additional safety or defensive driving training (preferred)
