Job Summary
Perform basic to intermediate level repairs of surgical devices and equipment by identifying problems, examining mechanisms for defects, and replacing or repairing defective parts. Troubleshoot and reassemble surgical devices, testing assemblies for conformance to specifications while adhering to Standard Work Instructions and Company ISO goals. Escalate risks and issues timely and effectively, and complete workplace organization audits and safety observations per site requirements. This role delivers superior customer experience through timely, quality repairs meeting compliance standards within our Chesterfield, MO Repair Lab. Extensive hands-on training is provided for those without prior medical repair experience.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to use small hand tools, power tools and microscopes
- Ability to assemble medical devices, such as flexible endoscopes
- Ability to perform subassembly
- Ability to perform basic to intermediate level repairs of surgical devices and equipment to specifications
- Ability to identify problems and use standardized testing procedures
- Ability to examine and test mechanisms for defects
- Ability to replace or repair defective parts
- Ability to troubleshoot, reassemble surgical devices and test assembly for conformance to specifications
- Ability to identify risks and issues and escalate timely and effectively
- Ability to adhere to Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
- Ability to become aware of and conform to Company ISO goals and objectives and support ISO requirements
- Ability to complete workplace organization audits and safety observations per site requirements
- Experience with hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing
- Experience with small engine repair
- Experience with cell phone and electronics repair/ testing/ re-builds
