Job Summary
CNC Setup & Machining Specialist responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling and turning centers, preparing machines, tooling, fixtures, and materials for production, running jobs with accuracy and efficiency, and supporting multi-axis operations. Key duties include reviewing blueprints and travelers, adjusting setups to improve productivity, editing CNC programs, developing fixtures to reduce setup times, troubleshooting machining issues, inspecting parts to tight tolerances (±0.002"), maintaining quality records, and upholding safety and housekeeping standards. Preferred experience includes operating lathes, grinders, drilling equipment, and routine maintenance; strong teamwork and continuous-improvement mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience
- 4–5 years of hands-on CNC machine setup and fixturing experience
- Experience using SolidWorks CAM Pro or comparable CAM software
- Strong understanding of tooling selection, feeds, and speeds
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
