Job Summary
Precision Assembler III responsible for complex repair, troubleshooting, training, and technical documentation within the Mechanical Exchange Department. This role assembles and repairs Okuma units, supports troubleshooting efforts, evaluates warranty returns, develops repair procedures, and provides mentorship to team members. Must disassemble/assemble units to OEM specs, perform dynamic balancing and final run-in testing, inspect incoming units, review warranty returns, and provide detailed reporting. Requires the ability to read assembly drawings, interpret part prints, operate measuring equipment, and maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Standard shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime/weekend flexibility; located in Charlotte, NC with commutable distance to corporate office.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years rebuild experience of Okuma spindles and/or mechanical sub-systems
- Forklift Training
- Power tools, hand tools, measuring devices
- Crane Inspection/Operation
- Intermediate PC usage such as for email, timesheets, Excel, and business systems
- Able to interpret assembly drawings and part prints
- Excellent verbal communication skills, as well as exceptional listening skills
- Strong attention to detail and capable of solving product technical problems
- Maintain annual OSHA safety certifications as required by job duties
- Live within commutable distance to the corporate office
