Job Summary
The Intake Coordinator coordinates incoming calls and sets up case files in the electronic medical record system for clinical staff, locates specialists and resources for members’ health needs, and communicates with provider offices. Responsibilities include saving and routing communications (faxes, emails), coordinating precertification, case management, and care navigator programs; collecting clinical information for medical necessity review; documenting case activities; coordinating referrals and appeals; and participating in departmental reporting and meetings while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
