Job Summary
Lead the quality assurance function for precast concrete staircase products, overseeing operations from raw material intake through final inspection and shipping. Train staff on testing procedures, conduct performance check-ins, and act as the primary escalation point for quality issues. Develop and maintain inspection protocols, monitor pours and finished units for compliance, and audit documentation to ensure traceability. Identify dimensional discrepancies and surface defects before customer delivery, while partnering with production to balance output targets with quality standards. Provide technical guidance to labourers, support hands-on inspection and finishing work, and liaise with project managers and suppliers regarding specifications and deviations. Champion the safety program by leading hazard identification and ensuring adherence to Alberta OHS regulations and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Must be capable of completing physical tasks of up to 50lbs in weight
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and product specifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in precast concrete manufacturing, concrete finishing, or a related concrete production environment
- Familiarity with concrete quality testing procedures including slump, air, and temperature testing
- Experience with materials testing of concrete, aggregate, or related products
- Civil engineering technology diploma or related education
