Job Summary
Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of experienced technicians. Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly, participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages, and develop repair plans. Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timelines while following all safety protocols to maintain a clean work environment. This 30-day trial qualifies candidates for the 18-month Technician Development Program. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and visually inspecting vehicle damage in various weather conditions. Compensation is $15–$18 per hour with bonus opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts
- Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace
- Zero unplanned absences
- Zero Tardiness violations
- Has worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame
- Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment
- Mentor signs training agreement
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred
- Some on-the-job experience is preferred
- I-CAR Gold Class preferred
- Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required
- Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
