Job Summary
Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of experienced technicians. Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly, participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans, and collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timelines. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment while continuously striving to improve production efficiency. This 30-day trial qualifies candidates for the 18-month Technician Development Program at Gerber Collision & Glass, where you will work alongside mentors to develop technical skills in the automotive industry.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
- Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace
- Zero unplanned absences
- Zero Tardiness violations
- Has worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame
- Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment
- Mentor signs training agreement
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Trade/Vocational school graduates
- Some on-the-job experience
- I-CAR Gold Class
- Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools
