Pre-Service Operations Manager

Job Summary

Manage daily operations of pre-service patient access functions, overseeing access center scheduling, financial clearance, prior authorization, and pre-registration teams. Monitor staffing levels, adjust resources to meet patient demand, and ensure efficient workflows across insurance verification and provider template utilization. Develop standardized procedures, implement process improvements, and lead recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for remote and onsite staff. Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle departments to reduce denials and improve financial outcomes while maintaining regulatory compliance and HIPAA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Management, Finance, or a related field
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare patient access, revenue cycle, or related operations
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs
  • Good reading eyesight
  • Color vision - ability to distinguish and identify different colors
  • Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to learn and apply organizational policies, procedures, and communication protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates competency in ability to care for customers/patients across the age continuum
  • Adherence to Professional Appearance Policy

  • Experience managing multiple functional areas
  • Experience managing call center or centralized scheduling areas
  • Experience leading remote or hybrid teams
  • Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record system
