Job Summary
The Pre-School Teacher position at the YMCA involves planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum under the supervision of the Lead Teacher. Responsibilities include assisting with lesson planning, daily child supervision, maintaining safety, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate must be EEC Teacher qualified, with CPR certification and excellent communication skills. Experience in early childhood education practices is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be EEC Teacher qualified
- Maintain current CPR certification and First Aid
- Full knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in Early Childhood Education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with EEC Licensing Regulations
- Familiarity with QRIS and NAEYC Criteria and Standards
- Familiarity with Merrimack Valley YMCA Child Care Quality Standards
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good human relations and communication skills
- Commitment to the Merrimack Valley YMCA’s mission and goals
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant college classes in Early Childhood Education
