Job Summary
The Teacher Assistant provides assistance with classroom activities, contributes to lesson planning, and delivers instruction under the classroom teacher’s direction. Responsibilities include implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), maintaining records, promoting student safety and well-being, and assisting with personal care needs. Must complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications. A High School Diploma or GED is required, alongside relevant NYS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid NYS Teaching Assistant Level I certification or documentation verifying requirements
- A valid NYS classroom teacher’s certificate
- Must Maintain Valid Level I Teacher Assistant Certification
