Job Summary
Plan and implement individualized curriculum addressing the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of children ages 3-5. Facilitate teaching methods and activities while ensuring staff adherence to Head Start Standards. Collaborate with diverse staff, Family Support Workers, and site partners to support classroom and family betterment. Guide children through activities, maintain appropriate supervision ratios, and conduct education home visits to discuss individual progress. Ensure timely completion of monthly job targets, weekly lesson plans, and accurate documentation using Teaching Strategies Gold. Provide site management during supervisor absence and serve as the agency representative during DCFS visits. Maintain fiscal integrity, comply with safety procedures, and participate in program recruitment to maintain full enrollment. Work a 43-week schedule supporting families to learn, earn, heal, and thrive.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Education from an accredited college or university
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education
- PEL or a Gateways ECE level 5 Credential while working towards receiving PEL
- Bachelor's with a Gateways IT Level 5 Credential
- Ability to obtain appropriate Gateways to Opportunity Level 5 Credential
- Mobility for travel required
- Candidates must have regular access to reliable transportation or a reliable vehicle with insurance
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and/or weekends if needed
- Satisfactorily pass a health examination, fingerprint and criminal background check
