Job Summary
Pre-Sales Systems Engineer for Networking SLED in Houston, TX, remote/teleworker role supporting K-12 and Local Government customers. Responsible for designing, presenting, and delivering networking solutions that meet customer requirements, leading demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements, and collaborating with Territory Managers, customers, and channel partners throughout the sales cycle. The role requires deep expertise in wired/wireless networking, campus/branch networking, network security, SASE, cloud-managed networking, and network management; candidates should have 4+ years of networking/engineering/pre-sales experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); industry certifications (e.g., HPE Aruba, Juniper, Cisco) are highly desirable. The position emphasizes developing tailored networking solutions, maintaining competitive positioning, and contributing to proposal development and technical leadership during customer engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and networking industry experience
- 4+ years of technical professional experience in networking, systems engineering, consulting, pre-sales, or post-sales technical roles
- Experience supporting State, Local Government, or K-12 Education customers preferred
- Experience developing and positioning networking solutions in competitive customer environments
- Experience with routing, switching, wireless networking, security, SASE, and network management platforms
- Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-managed networking environments
- Industry certifications such as HPE Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, or equivalent networking certifications are highly desirable
