Job Summary
Pre-Registration Scheduler responsible for coordinating scheduling of outpatient services (Radiology, Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, NTMC clinics) and verifying patient demographics, insurance, and authorization details. Performs data integrity activities in Medhost, tracks GFE status, creates PCNs when ready, manages digital intake and consents, conducts insurance verification, prior authorizations, and ensures regulatory compliance (No Surprises Act) for self-pay patients. Coordinates modality scheduling (Radiology and Surgical procedures), reduces walk-ins, communicates with patients and provider offices, and aims to minimize Turnaround Time from order receipt to scheduled appointment. Ensures professional Express Check-In experience with completed paperwork and financial counseling and maintains knowledge of evolving payer agreements, including Healthcare Highways.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree or higher preferred
- Prefer 1 to 2 years of experience in Revenue Cycle, Patient Access or Centralized Scheduling in an acute care setting
- Proficient use of computers including email and spreadsheet management
- Experience with medical terminology and health information systems (e.g. Medhost, Athena)
- Experience with digital intake systems (e.g. Simple Interact)
- Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to service
- Certification as CHAM or CRCS preferred
