Job Summary
Pre-Production Technical Specialist supports both Customer Service and Production, ensuring technical aspects of print jobs are prepared for production. Responsibilities include operating Esko programs to review artwork files for print specifications, preflighting files for errors (resolution, color, bleed), maintaining file version records, creating layouts for Web/Die-cutting/Flexo/Digital, confirming substrates and inks meet requirements, coordinating with production to satisfy technical needs before the press, and staying current with technologies. Requires strong technical printing background, attention to detail, and clear communication; must work well in a team and meet daily standards. Education: high school diploma or equivalent; related-degree and pre-press experience are a plus. Proficiency with Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Esko is desirable; knowledge of offset/label printing methods and color differentiation is important. Physical demands include mostly sedentary work with some lifting; benefits include comprehensive medical and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in pre-press or pre-production in printing industry is a plus
- A degree in graphic communication, printing technology, or related field is a plus
