Pre/Post Operative Registered Nurse

Provide safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care to pre-operative and post-anesthesia patients using the nursing process and nursing diagnosis while setting appropriate priorities. Carry out physician orders accurately, document activities, and complete discharge procedures including post-operative instructions and vehicle assistance. Respond appropriately in emergent situations and perform pre-op and post-op phone calls for verbal assessments and instruction reviews. Communicate care information to surgeons and anesthesiologists, initiate patient education, and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary surgical team. Participate in quality assurance monitoring, staff meetings, and new employee orientation while adhering to AORN practices, OSHA guidelines, and facility safety procedures.
