Job Summary
Identify dead and dying trees affected by drought and environmental conditions, then inspect overhead power lines for proper vegetation clearance. Notify property owners of upcoming line clearance work and perform pre-inspections in advance of tree-trimming operations. Prepare concise work plans for client contracted utility crews, audit contractor compliance with specifications, and assess customer requests for trimming or removals. Assist in storm and emergency situations while communicating daily with clients, contractors, and the public to maintain good relations. Travel may be required to various outdoor terrains in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess tree identification skills
- Ability to read maps
- Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to work alone
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to lift, move, and maneuver 30 pounds on average
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must have a clean MVR
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Must meet I-9 requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry-related hiring criteria
- Two years' experience in Vegetation Management
- Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management
- Prior experience in construction
- Prior experience in logging
- Prior experience in landscaping
- Prior experience in mechanical industries
- Prior experience in military industries
- Ability to read and understand contract requirements
- Knowledge of botanical and common names of trees and plants
