Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive outpatient medical evaluations and consultations for complex patients scheduled for surgery, including thorough history and physicals, ordering labs and imaging, and determining medical optimization. Coordinate care prior to surgery by working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians, and consultants. Interpret data to ensure patients are medically optimized before their procedures. Support a broad scope of patients and assist with the multi-disciplinary Senior Surgical Care Program. This 0.9 FTE role operates on a 4-day work week with no call duties. The team utilizes advanced Epic EMR and supports both Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers locations.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or a Medicine sub-specialty
- Must be able to provide high-quality, comprehensive care
- Must excel in evaluating complex patients with multiple co-morbid conditions
- Excellent clinical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be flexible to support both locations (Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers)
