Job Summary
Assess, educate, and prepare patients for surgery by managing consent, vital signs, IVs, and pre-op medications. Monitor recovering patients post-surgery, tracking anesthesia side effects, airway, ventilation, and circulation. Maintain scrupulous infection control standards and work within an interdependent multidisciplinary team in an outpatient surgical setting. This daytime shift role excludes weekends, holidays, and call. Requires a Florida unrestricted license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certification, and prior outpatient surgery experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Florida
- Current American Heart BLS certification and ACLS/PALS
- Prior experience caring for patients in an outpatient surgical setting
- Must be able to assess, educate, and prepare patients for surgery
- Must be able to care for recovering patients
- Must be able to monitor anesthesia side effects
- Must be able to monitor airway, ventilation, and circulation
- Must be focused on excellent patient care
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must have the ability to show flexibility in assignments
- Must maintain scrupulous infection control standards
- Must maintain professional competencies
- Must be able to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team
- Must be available for daytime shift work
- Must not work weekends
- Must not work holidays
- Must not work call
