Job Summary
Oversee Pre-op and PACU RNs, manage schedules and assignments, and conduct individualized patient assessments to prioritize care based on immediate needs. Administer treatments and medications per physician orders, perform therapeutic nursing interventions, and document patient progress while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols. Manage emergency equipment, check crash carts daily, and handle narcotic drug counts, ensuring a clean and stocked recovery environment. Contact patients for pre-operative screening, obtain clearances, check patients in, and educate families on post-operative care. Work flexible hours in a busy surgical ambulatory setting with three operating rooms and eight recovery bays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the Pre-op or PACU field
- Previous surgical management experience
- Flexible schedule and ability to work a variety of hours
- High school diploma
- Degree in Nursing
- Active state license for Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Sterile Technique and principles of aseptic technique
- Ability to pass a background check
