Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements, reflect accommodations for diverse learning styles, and align with TEA guidelines. Teach Pre-K and Elementary (Pre-K) with a focus on bilingual Spanish/English instruction, ESL support, and subject-area knowledge. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process, assess student learning, and plan instructional activities. Manage student behavior and maintain a safe classroom environment; communicate effectively with parents, students, principals, and teachers; supervise teacher aides and volunteers; collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed (IEPs); participate in professional development and Professional Learning Communities; and contribute to district and campus goals. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, Spanish bilingual capability, ESL certification, and the ability to deliver instruction and manage diverse student needs in Roanoke, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL Certification required for all ELA teachers
- Spanish Bilingual
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to deliver instruction and manage student behavior
- Student teaching or approved internship
