Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, including supporting instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics; prepare materials and classroom displays; assist with administration and scoring of objective tests; supervise students during the day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties; help maintain an orderly classroom and support substitute teachers. Requires an Associate’s degree (or two years of college) and a valid Texas educational aide certificate, with experience working with children and strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
