Job Summary
Implement Individual Education Plan objectives through classroom activities including small group, individual and large group lessons; develop and implement behavior management plans for students as needed; develop schedules and lesson plans for classroom day allowing for a variety of activities and special events appropriate for IEP goals; communicate progress to parents and other school personnel in compliance with state and program policies; conduct evaluations of student levels and needs through formal and informal means; elicit input from parents and others involved in student program development; design goals and objectives for student IEPs based on evaluations and input; adjust IEPs as needed based on progress; work cooperatively to develop programming and evaluation through disciplinary teaming; conduct IEP parent conferences; provide direction and training to instructor aides/volunteers; meet and instruct assigned classes; plan a program of study that meets individual needs and interests; create a conducive learning environment; prepare for classes and show preparation; design and implement meaningful lessons daily; address learning needs based on quality assessment data; guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear targets; employ varied instructional techniques and technology; align with district philosophy and objectives; assess student progress and provide feedback; identify learning difficulties and seek district support as needed; maintain records; support district policies and rules; plan for outside-of-classroom availability; supervise aides/volunteers; maintain professional competence; attend staff meetings and serve on committees; apply current research and theory; establish effective relationships with students, peers, parents, and staff; communicate clearly in written and oral form; demonstrate independent work capability; support district mission; perform other duties as assigned; the district is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate/License in the appropriate subject area or grade level; Substitute licensure is not accepted.
