Job Summary
Pre-K Teacher responsible for creating an inviting learning environment and fostering growth for educationally disadvantaged children. Develops daily lesson plans aligned with the Creative Curriculum, Foundations, Guide to the Early Years and other curriculum documents; assesses student progress; provides developmentally appropriate materials addressing social, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs; plans activities coordinating with the teacher assistant and volunteers; promotes strong home/school relations; communicates with parents; collaborates with community agencies (DSS, mental health, court system, churches, Smart Start); participates in professional development; maintains accurate records; works in a 40-hour workweek, Monday–Friday, 10 months.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, and be working towards a North Carolina Birth-Kindergarten (B-K) license or be eligible for a Provisional Lateral Entry B-K license.
