Job Summary
Create and manage a classroom promoting preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development while mentoring assistant teachers. Develop and implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices and individualized instruction to foster pre-literacy, numeracy, and language development. Lead circle time, group activities, and learning centers, utilizing observation tools to track student progress. Maintain a structured, safe environment aligned with Cognia standards and implement positive behavior guidance strategies. Communicate daily with families through updates and conferences, supporting school events and collaborating with administrators on state licensing standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center
- Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency
- Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices
- Effective communication skills with children, families, and co-workers
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required or in progress)
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations and quality standards
