Job Summary
Implement the district's instructional program and educational philosophy by developing effective lesson plans with immediate and long-range goals. Manage the classroom environment through positive discipline techniques, appropriate behavior supervision, and safety drills for students on and off campus. Coordinate with team members, the librarian, counselors, and parents to support student welfare and academic progress while maintaining accurate records for evaluations, attendance, and materials. Stay current with education literature and workshops to meet state standards and improve instructional areas. Report to work daily per the schedule approved by the campus principal.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited College or University
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Reading Certification for teachers applying to teach K-3 students or currently enrolled
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of successful classroom experience
- Reading Certification for teachers applying to teach Pre-k, Grade 4, and Grade 5
