Job Summary
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials using effective teaching strategies tailored to pre-kindergarten developmental needs. Maintain classroom management by addressing learning and behavior issues while differentiating instruction for all learners. Evaluate student progress regularly through multiple assessment methods and provide interim reports to parents and staff. Communicate promptly with families and uphold board policies, district goals, and school safety regulations. Share daily supervision responsibilities across various school areas and adhere to health and safety protocols. Keep current in subject matter knowledge by attending workshops, PLCs, and staff development sessions as required.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina Teaching license
- Bachelor's Degree from an approved education program in the subject area
- Strong background and understanding of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to speak or hear at normal spoken word levels
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to push or pull
- Ability to lift
- Standard vision requirements
- Ability to prepare and analyze written or computer data
- Ability to operate machines
- Ability to operate motor vehicles or equipment
- Ability to observe general surroundings and activities
- Ability to work in moderately noisy locations
