Job Summary
Provide instructional support in a self-contained Pre-K classroom for students with disabilities. Assist in implementing classroom programs including self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities under the supervision of a certified teacher. Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays, maintain an orderly classroom, and assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. Support teachers with administrative records and required reports, orient substitutes, and collaborate with professional service providers to meet individual student needs. Manage student behavior, assist with crises, help transfer and position students (including those using wheelchairs), and assist with personal care such as feeding, bathroom needs, and hygiene. Monitor and report on student needs, support transitions throughout the day, supervise students inside and outside the classroom, and participate in staff development and district safety procedures. Maintain confidentiality, uphold a professional demeanor, and perform other duties as assigned. Must hold a Texas educational aide certificate and meet education/experience requirements; ability to obtain certification for transporting students; capable of working with children with disabilities and following verbal/written instructions; maintain effective communication and adapt methods to individual needs.
Required Qualifications
