Job Summary
Lead Teacher/Director in Hyde Park, NY overseeing the Preschool classroom (roughly 80-90% direct work with children). Responsibilities include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons using Creative Curriculum, promoting positive adult-child interactions via CLASS, conducting ongoing observations and developmental assessments, and maintaining ECERS/ITERS standards. Also responsible for family and community engagement, enrollment activities, and program quality via ECERS, CLASS, and ongoing professional development. Administrative duties include center operations, scheduling, compliance with NY State OCFS regulations, record-keeping, onboarding and supervising staff, and collaboration with HR and regional leadership. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent credential) plus supervisory experience (or CDA/OCFS credential with plan toward degree) and ability to work part-time in a classroom-centered role with lead responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (12+ credits in early childhood, child development, or related field) plus 1 year teaching and 1 year supervisory experience
- NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 1 year teaching and 1 year supervisory experience
- Associate’s degree in early childhood (or related field) with plan toward bachelor’s or administrator credential plus 2 years teaching and 2 years supervisory experience
- CDA or OCFS-recognized credential with plan of study plus 2 years teaching and 2 years supervisory experience
