Job Summary
Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher, working with individuals or small groups. Assist in preparing instructional materials, managing classroom activities, and administering objective testing instruments. Help maintain a neat classroom, manage equipment inventory, and keep administrative records. Supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties, while reporting special needs to the teacher. Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and follow district safety protocols. Requires a valid Texas educational aide certificate, high school diploma or GED, and ability to instruct reading, writing, and mathematics.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Have met formal academic assessment, associate's degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
- Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
