Job Summary
PARA-EDUCATOR/INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE/INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL at ALABASTER CITY SCHOOLS, Creek View Elementary School. Responsibilities include assisting in upholding school rules, planning with assigned teacher, working with students individually and in groups, assisting with student testing activities, maintaining charts/records of student performance, preparing materials for a positive learning environment, performing clerical tasks (inventory, filing, typing), operating audiovisual equipment, caring for equipment, supporting basic physical needs of students, ensuring safety, attending professional development, and fostering positive attitudes toward citizenship and cooperation. Reports to Coordinator of Exceptional Education and Principal; evaluation per Board policy. Terms include 187-day contract; salary per current schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Associate’s Degree or 48 semester hours for Title I/Title I Targeted Assistance Programs or WORKKEYS test
- Adequate strength and dexterity
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Alternatives to above qualifications as allowed by Board of Education
