Job Summary
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to enhance children's growth, promote social competence, and ensure parental involvement. Assist the Teacher in organizing the classroom environment for learning, eating, resting, and playing while maintaining staff ratios and safety standards. Accompany children to and from the bus, playground, and out-of-center activities, conducting attendance checks and headcounts. Lead the classroom in the Teacher's absence and maintain accurate records for educational and nutritional needs. Conduct home visits and parent conferences to support family advocacy and transition planning. Adhere to policies ensuring GA licensure, NAEYC accreditation, and Head Start performance standards. Complete mandatory training hours and participate in all required educational programs.
Required Qualifications
- Early childhood education credential
- Childhood Development Associate Credential (CDA) with the preschool endorsement, TCC, TCD or equivalent or higher credential
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must possess training, experiences, and knowledge that includes theories, and principles of child growth and development, early childhood education, and family support
- Must possess excellent communication skills and fluency to communicate with children and families
- Must be familiar with the ethnic background and culture of families in the program and be able to serve and effectively communicate, to the extent feasible, with children and families with no or limited English proficiency
- Must possess the ability to move/lift children up to age (5)
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass the Background Check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
