Job Summary
Uncommon Schools seeks a Pre-K Apprentice Teacher to join a collaborative teaching team (lead teacher and apprentice) across our high-performing charter schools in Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, and Rochester. You will co-teach and create an engaging, joyful classroom that supports mastery through exploration and purposeful play. Responsibilities include co-teaching literacy (phonics, language development, vocabulary, writing), mathematics, and core knowledge (science and social studies); facilitating free-choice centers and small-group instruction; analyzing student work to tailor instruction; differentiating instruction for all learners; and partnering with families to support student learning. You’ll work with an instructional coach and director to set goals, use multiple data sources to drive decisions, and participate in weekly practice-based professional development, mentorship, and school-wide collaboration. Ideal candidates have strong organizational and communication skills, a passion for urban education, and alignment with our mission of preparing students for college success. A Bachelor’s Degree is required; compensation is $60,000 with comprehensive benefits; this is an in-person, full-time role across our NYC, Boston, Newark, Rochester, and Camden campuses.
