Job Summary
Erect steel columns, make bolt connections between rafters and columns, and ensure the building frame is square and plum before siding and roof installation. Assist in layout and preparation for structural steel erection, unloads and organizes prefabricated steel, and directs a crane to lift beams, girders, and columns. Use metal shears, torches, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld steel according to blueprint specifications while troubleshooting erection issues. Run a crew when the Crew Leader is unavailable, detail steel with little direction, and install sidewall panel systems ensuring proper window and door layouts. Conduct daily equipment checks, maintain a clean job site, and onboard new employees to safety procedures. Requires five years of construction experience, OSHA 10-Hour certification, and proficiency in metal roofing, sidewalls, or PEMB erection. Required Qualifications
- Must have reliable, consistent transportation
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant construction experience (Pre-engineered metal buildings, connecting, bolting)
- OSHA 10-Hour certified or completed within six months of hire
- First Aid and CPR
- Licensed on equipment
- OSHA 30-Hour certified
- Proficient in and ability to lead four of the following: Metal Roofing, Metal Sidewall, Erection of PEMB, PEMB Trims
- Certifications in welding and power actuated tools
