Job Summary

Lead strategic project pursuits and oversee multiple large-scale preconstruction efforts from pursuit through construction handoff. Direct comprehensive proposals, establish estimating standards, and manage design coordination across civil, architectural, and specialty partners. Build high-performing teams, negotiate owner and teaming agreements, and drive innovation to shape client relationships and competitive positioning. Manage departmental budgets, prepare pipeline reports for executive leadership, and resolve constructability issues before mobilization. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil), construction management, or a related field
  • 10–15+ years of progressive construction experience with significant preconstruction, estimating, or project management leadership
  • Proven track record managing large, complex projects from conception through completion
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, building systems, codes, regulations, and delivery methods (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, CM at Risk, IPD)
  • Strong expertise in cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and construction economics
  • Experience with design coordination, BIM, and virtual construction tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) and project management/estimating/scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project)
  • Strong understanding of contract structures, risk allocation, and the legal aspects of construction
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with proven negotiation ability
  • A valid driver's license
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint, estimating tools, BIM technologies (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks), and scheduling applications (Primavera, MS Project)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Superior strategic thinking and problem-solving, with the ability to assess complex preconstruction scenarios, anticipate challenges, and make sound decisions that affect competitive positioning and project success
  • Frequent, recurring visits to active construction sites
  • Regularly required to sit, walk (including on rough or uneven surfaces), use hands and fingers to handle equipment and files, reach, drive, bend, talk, see, and hear
  • Occasionally required to stand, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, crouch, or twist
  • Infrequently required to crawl
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Frequent travel is required

Desired Qualifications

  • engineering or construction-related degree and LEED preferred
  • LEED AP or LEED Green Associate, or a professional engineering license
  • Experience in commercial, healthcare, education, or industrial markets
