Job Summary
Efficiently screen passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and physical search techniques. Confirm valid boarding passes, provide professional information with integrity, and protect restricted areas while managing conflict. Uphold all regulations with vigilance and communicate clearly and effectively. This role requires excellent customer service skills, strong English and French communication abilities, and the capacity to work any shift including weekends and holidays. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents residing in Penticton, hold a high school diploma, and successfully complete the Screening Officer Foundations course.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current resident of Penticton, or the surrounding area
- Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- Must successfully pass the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
- Fluency in French
