Job Summary
Greet and arrive patients, secure signatures for documentation, and obtain verified insurance and demographic information. Facilitate patient care between primary, specialty, and ancillary services while scheduling, confirming, or rescheduling appointments. Process incoming calls or requests, respond to departmental inquiries, and reconcile work lists. Educate patients on resources, promote Patient Connect enrollment, and coordinate intake for new and existing patients. Maintain medical records, distribute mail and faxes, and track form completion requests. Follow CHMG policies and procedures while working independently within the team on special and ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or General Educational Development equivalency
- Must pass annual registration competency exam
- Proven customer service experience
- Knowledge of medical office operations, including scheduling, registration, electronic medical records, patient flow, billing, coding, charge capture, referrals, authorizations, payer guidelines, compliance, credentials, privileges, regulatory agencies, and the DNV standards
- Must regularly lift, carry or push/pull less than 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds
- Must occasionally lift, carry or push/pull up to 20 pounds
- Must be regularly required to do fine motor, repetitive motion, hear, reach, sit, and speak
- Must be frequently required to bend, and walk
- Must be occasionally required to kneel, squat, and stand
- Must have color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated customer service ability to interact with the public, staff and patients
- Familiarity with medical terminology
