Practice Manager II, Primary Care

Job Summary
Manage daily operations of the physician practice by supervising staff, preparing clinic budgets, and monitoring provider and schedule utilization. Lead team development through hiring, training, and performance management while ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensure requirements. Monitor front desk workflows, productivity metrics, and referral cycles to optimize patient flow and collections. Analyze financial and practice activity reports to support long-range planning and fiscal operations. Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA policies while acting as a liaison between the practice and Central Billing Office.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business Administration or related field with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration
- Clinical certificate/license (CCMA, LPN, RN...)
- One year of work and supervisory experience in practice management
- Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, specifically medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities management
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries or complaints from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives
- Knowledge of fiscal management techniques
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving techniques in that decision-making process
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Knowledge of health care administration systems
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, Internet navigation, database management, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, and graphic presentation packages

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration
- 3 – 5 years practice management or practice administrator experience
