Job Summary
Lead the growth of the local Transportation/Traffic practice by creating a vision for expansion, delivering a wide variety of planning, traffic engineering, and ITS-related projects, and pursuing new clients and passions. Assist in marketing and business development efforts with municipal, state, and private clients while operating with integrity and sound business principles. Provide vision, business planning, and strategy to establish goals, build positive client relationships, and maintain open communication with partners and the team. Grow and lead the practice with a great deal of autonomy to direct business development and mentor staff, transitioning work to qualified professionals. Manage projects profitably through agency specifications while contributing to the firm's broader transportation engineering practice growth.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the local area
- Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
