Practice Development Manager - Asset Management

Job Summary
Collaborate with practice and specialty group leadership to develop a strategic Registered Funds group plan focused on competitive differentiation, market reputation, and profitability. Support Registered Funds leadership with daily operations, including designing substantive initiatives, preparing for meetings, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and innovation. Manage partner and counsel transitions, including on-boarding, promotions, and succession planning, while overseeing legal ranking submissions and tracking Registered Funds experience. Work with Business Development, Marketing, and Finance teams to drive knowledge marketing product development, raise attorney profiles, and analyze practice financial performance to ensure growth and profitability. Manage Practice Development Specialists and Experience Analysts through coaching and delegation, while supporting the development of AI-enabled practice development workflows. Monitor current trends in legal management and best practices to communicate innovations and regulations across the firm.
Required Qualifications
- At least eight years experience managing complex business operations and teams
- Proven track record of successful performance
- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Experience working with colleagues on all levels
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to pitch in and roll-up their sleeves to help the practice group achieve its business objectives
- Bachelor's degree
- At least eight years' applicable experience working in a mid-sized to large law firm or corporate environment in a similar field and/or as a practicing attorney
- Candidate must have proven problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to take responsibility for designing and implementing goals
- Prior people management experience, including coaching, mentoring and strong delegation skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal and personnel affairs
- Experience in asset management/registered funds or in a mid-sized to large law firm preferred

- JD or MBA preferred but not required
