Job Summary
Conduct procedures and enter charges to comply with federal/state regulations and internal policies. Coordinate with Practice Coordinator and Revenue Integrity to ensure all necessary documentation supports selected procedure codes or code cases as needed. Participate in audits to evaluate code accuracy and develop methodologies to improve identified coding issues. Requires a coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, RN) and minimum two years of hospital or physician practice coding experience. Schedule is 7-4.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, RN)
- Must have minimum of 2 years hospital and/or physician practice coding experience or successful completion of the one-year Revenue Integrity Internship Program
- Demonstrated communication skills
- an ability to work independently
- deal effectively with various types of personnel
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Desired Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration
