Job Summary
Lead the growth of a personal transportation practice by developing a vision for expansion and establishing strategic business goals. Deliver transportation planning, traffic engineering, and ITS projects to municipal, state, and private clients while managing work profitably and transitioning tasks to qualified staff. Build and maintain positive client relationships with local DOTs and agencies, mentor team members, and pursue new project opportunities autonomously. Operate with integrity and sound business principles to grow the local practice, with potential advancement to ownership and a performance-based bonus program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- At least 15 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design
- Registered license (PE and/or TE)
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in San Diego and surrounding communities
- Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
