Job Summary
Lead the growth of a local transportation practice by creating a vision for expansion, delivering planning, traffic engineering, and ITS projects to municipal, state, and private clients. Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and grow the team through mentorship and open communication with partners. Establish business goals, maintain positive client relationships, and pursue new project opportunities while operating with integrity and sound business principles. This role offers significant autonomy to direct and lead the business, supported by a performance-based bonus program with potential advancement to ownership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- At least 15 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design
- Registered license (PE and/or TE)
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in Escondido and surrounding communities
- Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
