Job Summary
Lead design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, EV charging, and battery storage projects. Review and develop design documents including layouts, schematics, calculations, and one-line diagrams while collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams across Kimley-Horn offices. Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and proposals to support the growth of electrical engineering service areas. Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and mentor team members with a strong emphasis on business planning and client relationship building. This role offers significant autonomy to direct and grow the Renewable Energy practice, with potential advancement to ownership and an impressive bonus program.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience managing Electrical projects
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
