Job Summary
Lead front desk and scheduling operations for the Department of Surgery, serving as the first point of escalation for complex cases and provider-specific scheduling issues. Manage staff calendars to ensure proper coverage, track attendance, and coordinate onboarding and training for new hires while providing educational sessions on front-end processes. Facilitate team discussions to resolve scheduling conflicts, communicate with management and care providers to address reported complaints, and assist with special projects as needed. Track compliance and education requirements for the unit while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- 2 years of relevant experience (substitutable for degree)
- 5 years relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of/proficiency with medical terminology
- Advanced proficiency with surgical/procedural scheduling processes
- Excellent team collaboration and mentorship skills including, but not limited to, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to lead others through new and changing situations
- Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to deliver consistent exceptional service
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a demanding workload and complex cases in an accurate and timely manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholder audiences
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in EPIC/EHR
- Prior experience in training
- Bilingual English/Spanish
